DriveNets is a leader in high-scale disaggregated networking solutions. Founded in 2015, DriveNets modernizes the way service providers, cloud providers and hyperscalers build networks. Supporting the largest network in the world, more than half of AT&T’s backbone traffic is running on DriveNets’ Network Cloud open disaggregated architecture. Raising $587 million in three funding rounds, DriveNets is disrupting the networking market from high-scale architecture to AI platforms, and is bringing onboard the most talented people. We are seeking people that want to make an impact on the world’s leading communication networks and are experienced in networking architecture or AI infrastructure solutions.

THE ROLE

We are seeking a Senior UI/UX Lead to own the user experience vision for our AI datacenter orchestration platform. In this role, you will lead product UX for network engineers managing large-scale AI infrastructure—turning complex operational workflows into clear, intuitive, and efficient experiences.

This is a design-led role. You will produce high-quality design deliverables (Figma, prototypes, interaction specs, and UX acceptance criteria) and partner closely with Product Management and Engineering to ship. Engineers will implement the production frontend; your focus is on defining the experience, validating it with users, and ensuring high-fidelity execution.

A key part of the role is leveraging LLM tools to accelerate research synthesis, prototyping, UX writing, and design iteration.

Key Responsibilities

Design & User Experience

  • Lead end-to-end UI/UX design for a multi-service datacenter orchestration platform serving network engineering teams.
  • Create intuitive workflows spanning the datacenter lifecycle: provisioning, configuration management, network automation, validation, monitoring, and incident response.
  • Translate complex technical concepts into clear information architecture, navigation models, user flows, and interaction patterns.
  • Produce implementation-ready design deliverables: high-fidelity mockups, prototypes, interaction specs, edge cases, states (loading/empty/error), responsive behavior, and accessibility considerations.
  • Conduct user research with network engineers (interviews, usability tests, workflow mapping) to understand operational pain points and optimize workflows.
  • Define UX acceptance criteria and partner with Engineering during implementation and QA to ensure the shipped experience matches design intent.

LLM-Augmented Design & Product Workflow

  • Integrate LLM tools into design workflows to accelerate discovery, ideation, UX writing, prototyping, and iteration cycles.
  • Use AI assistants for rapid exploration of UI concepts, design pattern alternatives, content drafts, and review checklists.
  • Establish team best practices for effective prompt usage, quality control, and repeatable evaluation so LLM-assisted outputs improve both speed and quality.
  • Stay current with emerging AI tools that enhance design productivity and collaboration.

Product & Cross-Functional Leadership

  • Own the UX roadmap for the orchestration console in partnership with Product Management and Engineering.
  • Drive cross-functional alignment through design reviews, stakeholder workshops, and clear communication of tradeoffs.
  • Create a consistent end-user experience across multiple services by defining lightweight UI guidelines, shared patterns, and Figma components.
  • Help the organization make better product decisions by bringing a strong customer perspective, measurable UX goals, and iterative validation.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of professional experience in UI/UX design for complex software products, including enterprise/B2B applications.
  • Expert proficiency with modern design tools (Figma preferred; Sketch/Adobe XD acceptable), including componentization and interactive prototyping.
  • Proven experience designing data-dense, workflow-heavy interfaces (dashboards, monitoring, configuration, operations tools).
  • Experience collaborating closely with frontend engineers and product teams, including producing implementation-ready specs and participating in build reviews.
  • Strong understanding of interaction design, information architecture, usability principles, and accessibility fundamentals.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills with the ability to articulate design decisions, tradeoffs, and rationale.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Strong ability to produce implementation-ready static prototypes in HTML/CSS/JavaScript (hand-coded or with modern tooling) as an alternative to Figma deliverables.
  • Background or familiarity with network engineering, datacenter operations, or infrastructure management.
  • Demonstrated experience using LLM tools as part of the design and product workflow.
  • Experience designing interfaces for AI/ML infrastructure (GPU clusters, HPC environments) or complex distributed systems.
  • Experience building monitoring, observability, incident response, or infrastructure management user experiences.
  • Familiarity with Kubernetes, cloud orchestration platforms, or infrastructure-as-code concepts.
  • Understanding of network topology visualization, graph-based UIs, or real-time data streaming interfaces.
