DriveNets Wins 2021 Leading Lights Award for Best New Optical Networking/IP Product
DriveNets’ leadership in driving cloud-native networking and network disaggregation recognized by prestigious telecoms awards program for second consecutive year
Ra’anana Israel, October 12, 2021 – DriveNets, a leader in cloud-native networking software and network disaggregation solutions, today announced that it has been named the winner of Light Reading’s Leading Lights Award for Best New Optical Networking/IP Product for its DriveNets Network Cloud solution. The Leading Lights is the telecom industry’s most prestigious awards program, recognizing top companies and executives for their outstanding achievements in next-generation communications technology, applications, services, strategies, and innovations. The Leading Lights winners were announced during an online awards ceremony on October 8, 2021.
This award recognizes DriveNets’ Network Cloud as the most innovative optical networking or IP product in the market in the past year – a significant achievement considering the distinguished set of vendors and solutions nominated in the category. DriveNets’ Network Cloud multiservice solution marks the first time the network can be efficiently and fully virtualized like cloud. This is the company’s second consecutive Leading Lights Award achievement – last year, DriveNets won Company of the Year (Private) award.
“Service providers are increasingly looking at network disaggregation, which is the basis of DriveNets’ solution, with some significant deployments in the past year,” said Sterling Perrin, senior principal analyst at Heavy Reading. “Disaggregation is opening the IP market to new innovative solutions and players. DriveNets Network Cloud’s recognition validates this momentum and the value it brings.”
“We’re honored to be recognized for a second year as a leader and innovator in a very competitive market,” said Ido Susan, CEO & co-founder, DriveNets. “DriveNets has disrupted the networking industry – building networks like clouds, so they can better support the needs of today’s cloud-centric world. In the past year we’ve demonstrated that our Network Cloud solution works at the highest scale possible – the core of the largest network backbone in North America, and we continue to expand on its capabilities.”
DriveNets Network Cloud multiservice solution is based on disaggregation of hardware and software, abstracting the physical infrastructure to enable full virtualization. This allows multiple services and applications to make the most efficient use of network and compute resources, collapsing a complex infrastructure of routers and servers into a compact software-based solution running on white boxes.
This evolution of DriveNets’ solution takes disaggregation to the next level, allowing service providers to run any network function, from any vendor, on top of white box hardware, providing significant cost-reduction, optimal scaling and software-paced innovation.
“Congratulations to DriveNets for being selected as a Leading Lights winner,” said Light Reading Editor-in-Chief Phil Harvey. “The award demonstrates that DriveNets not only had a great year but is on a trajectory to continue to make a difference in the global communications industry. We look forward to seeing what they do next.”
Light Reading’s reputation for fiercely independent analysis of the people, products, and companies it covers makes this the most credible and authoritative awards program in the industry. Leading Lights judging was conducted by Light Reading’s editors with input from the analyst team at Heavy Reading.
