Last Christmas (of a Network Engineer)

To get a little deeper into the holiday spirit, we’ve given our spin on an old favorite “Last Christmas”, taking a look at that holidays through the eyes of a network engineer.

Enjoy.

Last Christmas (of a Network Engineer)

Last Christmas I craved a new start,
Didn’t dream that we’d stay

All locked up this way
This year, I want to make it clear

I wanna do something special

Last Christmas I craved a new start

But fear stood in the way and I let you stay

This year, to unlock our gear

we favor …disaggregation

Seasons-Greetings-1

Once tested and field tried

With flying colors, with deployment inside

Proof of concept, proof to me

I knew it would work, it doesn’t surprise me

White box cluster, wrapped up and sent it

With a note saying “pre orchestrated” and meant it

Now I know, how confused I’ve been

Chaotic pricing that had just confused me again.

Last Christmas I craved a new start

But fear stood in the way and I let you stay

This year, to unlock our gear

we favor …disaggregation

ooh

oh, disaggregation …

Seasons-Greetings-1

A monolithic chassis, TCO with tired lies
I’m hiding from you and your massive size
My God, I thought you were a vendor to rely on
Me? I guess I need new tech to try on

A disaggregated network is my new start
Software and hardware, just tear them apart
Oh, oh now I’ve found my real love
You’ll never fool me again

Last Christmas I craved a new start

But fear stood in the way and I let you stay

This year, to unlock our gear

we favor …disaggregation

disaggregation …

I want a vendor that’s ready to scale…smart
Hardware and software just tear them apart
And by next year I’m going with something…
I’m going with…disaggregation

disaggregation

 So long
